Lim Shi Han has been under the tutelage of Ms Lena Ching at the School of Young Talents (Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts) since 2014, at the age of 12.
Shi Han has clinched numerous awards at domestic and international competitions, namely 1st prizes at the 3rd Steinway Youth Piano Competition (Intermediate Category), 1st Nanyang International Music Competition (Intermediate Category), 2nd Nanyang International Music Competition (Senior Category), and 2nd prize at the senior categories of the 4th Steinway Youth Piano Competition and the 12th National Piano and Violin Competition.
She has also been awarded gold awards and top prizes (given to the top scorer of each category) at both the Senior B and Open categories of the Singapore Asia Youth Piano Competition in 2018, where she competed against participants from countries such as Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, China and Taiwan. Shi Han is also the winner of the senior category and overall winner of the Young Talents' Project 2018 organised by Singapore Mediacorp. Shi Han is a Yamaha Young Artist, and has signed a 2-year contract with Yamaha giving her invitations to perform in concerts and masterclasses around Singapore.
She has also been selected to perform at the SYT's annual Prize Winner's Concert since 2015. She was also a guest performer for the Young Talents' Project 2019. An avid performer in school (Raffles Girls' Secondary School), Shi Han was a student conductor in her CCA (symphonic band) and has also performed with her CCA in their biennial concert "Cadenza" as a soloist for Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin, under the baton of Singaporean conductor Seow Yibin. In her MEP (music elective programme) course in school, she has been invited to perform at the annual MEP Year End Concert as soloist and chamber musician consistently from 2016 and has topped the cohort in 2017. As a recognition of her achievements, her school has awarded her with the pinnacle Outstanding Achievement Award (MEP/Band).
Being passionate about sharing her love for music with others, Shi Han has also been commissioned by Singapore Piano Hub to share her perspectives on topics regarding competition and tips practicing.
